Cameo Silhouette Cards

So if you’ve been on my Facebook page you should know that I purchased a new toy this past Friday!   I broke down and bought a new cutter, the Cameo Silhouette, something I’ve been wanting to do for over a year now….  I’ve pretty much been in my craft room non stop (except to eat and work lol).  When I read that there was a learning curve with this machine, I thought no big deal I can handle it, they weren’t kidding!  It does take some time to figure out the software and so on (definitely more that I thought there would be!).  I’ve worked a lot with my Cricut Expression over the years and was fortunate to purchase SCAL when it was still version 1 (now I am updated to version 3), so I’ve worked a lot with cutting software with my Expression.

The thing that I love about the Cameo is that it is on the same playing field as that Cricut Imagine, except I get to use my own printer so I don’t have to worry about the printer portion breaking down, which was one of my concerns with The Imagine.  I also don’t like being limited by the cartridges, don’t get me wrong cause I love my carts (I have over 50) but I like to be able to design and cut myself, or even use 3rd party SVG’s and artwork.

So you get to see (above) my first couple of cards that I have made :) The design for the campfire was a design in the online Silhouette library (used my $10 gift card in the box), and the other card was made from the free artwork at Lettering Delights .   I’d love to hear some feedback from you guys, What is your favorite cutter, and why? or What machine do you have or would like to purchase in the near future, and what do you love about it?  Leave your answers in the comment section :)

As always,
Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Crafting!

Jayni
